Οι συσκευές wi-fi εκπέμπουν ηλεκτρομαγνητική ακτινοβολία η οποία είναι εν δυνάμει επικίνδυνη για την υγεία. Και λέω εν δυνάμει γιατί εξαρτάται από πολλούς παράγοντες για να γίνει πραγματικά επικίνδυνη. Λ.χ. εγγύτητα στην πηγή εκπομπής, μεγάλης έντασης εκπομπή, συνεχής παρουσία κοντά στην πηγή κ.ά. Ωστόσο, ακόμα και υπό αυτές τις συνθήκες δεν έχει αποδειχτεί τίποτε ακόμη, κυρίως γιατί το φαινόμενο είναι πρόσφατο (10-15 χρόνων) και χρειάζονται μελέτες σε μεγάλο βάθος χρόνου για να αποδειχτεί ότι κάποια καρκινογένεση π.χ. οφείλεται στο wi-fi.
Καλό είναι, πάντως, να φυλαγόμαστε.
Τα ίδια ισχύουν και για τα κινητά τηλέφωνα και τις κεραίες τους (ίσως περισσότερο λόγω της ευρείας χρήσης τους).
