Τα Βραβεία Νόμπελ είναι ετήσια διεθνή βραβεία που δίνονται απο το 1901 για επιτεύγματα στην Ιατρική, στην Χημεία, στην Φυσική, στην Λογοτεχνία και για την Ειρήνη. Το 1968 η Σουηδική Τράπεζα καθιέρωσε την απονομή βραβείου στις Οικονομικές επιστήμες στη μνήμη του ιδρυτή τους, τον Σουηδό επιστήμονα Άλφρεντ Νόμπελ. Κάθε βραβείο απαρτίζεται απο ένα μετάλλιο, ένα σημαντικό χρηματικό ποσό και ένα δίπλωμα.
