Το πώς ακριβώς κτίστηκαν οι πυραμίδες δεν φαίνεται να είναι γνωστό. Υποθέτουν ότι έχτιζαν ράμπες και πάνω εκεί κυλούσαν σε κορμούς τους ογκόλιθους. Η ράμπα πιθανόν να ανέβαινε σπειροδειώς προς την πυραμίδα.
