Το Dropbox είναι ίσως η ιδανικότερη λύση για backup αρχείων και file storage. Η εξειδανίκευσή του έγκειται στο ότι δεν έχεις τη δυνατότητα να διαχειριστείς τα αρχεία σου μόνο μέσα από το πανέμορφο web-based περιβάλλον του, αλλά και μέσα από τον δικό σου υπολογιστή, σαν να είναι ένας ξεχωριστός σκληρός δίσκος.

Είναι μια εφαρμογή που συγχρονίζει αμφίδρομα ένα φάκελλο που έχουμε δηλώσει στο pc μας με έναν φάκελλο που βρίσκεται στον ηλ. υπολ. της εταιρίας που έχει δημιουργήσει το dropbox στο διαδίκτυο. Ένα πρόβλημα είναι ο όγκος των δεδομένων, ο οποίος είναι δωρεάν εώς 2 GB. Όποιος χρειάζεται παραπάνω χώρο για τα αρχεία του τον πληρώνει.
Εκτός αν κάποιος προσκαλέσει κι άλλους χρήστες να γραφτούν, για κάθε έναν από τους οποίους κερδίζει 250ΜΒ. Ωστόσο, δεν σημαίνει ότι μπορείς να προσκαλέσεις όλο το γενεαλογικό σου δέντρο. Το maximum που μπορείς να φτάσεις είναι 8GB.
